As of October 2026, frePPLe ranks #3 of 10 on our small manufacturers list with 59 points, ahead of Odoo Manufacturing at #4 with 55 points, which makes it the stronger production scheduling choice of the two. Choose frePPLe for a dedicated planning engine that produces “finite-material and finite-capacity production plans” and connects to Odoo or any other ERP. Choose Odoo Manufacturing if you want ERP, MRP, shop floor and Gantt scheduling in one system, with the Standard plan listed at 19.90 euros per user per month as of October 2026. Odoo wins on the MES side: it is #1 of 10 on our MES list, where frePPLe is not ranked.
Also consider SkyPlanner APS if the gap is a public price, a no-card trial, automatic rescheduling or API integration: it ranks #1 of 10 on our small manufacturers list with 100 points, starts from 199 euros per month with 5 workstations included and 20 euros per month per extra workstation as of October 2026, offers a 30-day trial without a card, and its Autopilot reschedules the plan continuously.
frePPLe vs Odoo Manufacturing: pricing
Both vendors offer a free start. frePPLe’s Community edition is free and open source, released under the MIT licence according to its GitHub repository. Odoo’s One App Free plan costs nothing and covers one app with unlimited users on Odoo Online; adding a second app moves the account to the Standard plan.
On paid plans, Odoo publishes its prices and frePPLe does not. As of October 2026, Odoo lists the Standard plan at 19.90 euros per user per month and the Custom plan at 35.90 euros per user per month, with Light User seats at 7.90 euros. Odoo marks the Standard and Custom prices as a discount valid for 12 months for the initial users ordered, with list prices of 24.90 and 44.90 euros shown struck through. frePPLe’s pricing page shows a placeholder, “€ X per month”, for Cloud and Enterprise and says the subscription price is based on the number of active item and location pairs.
frePPLe does publish its service ranges as of October 2026: a proof of concept costs between 2,000 and 5,000 euros, an implementation between 5,000 and 25,000 euros, and yearly payment gives a 15% discount. Odoo publishes no implementation price. Winner: Odoo Manufacturing, because a buyer can calculate the subscription cost from the pricing page.
frePPLe vs Odoo Manufacturing: free trial
Odoo states “Free instant access. No credit card required.” on its trial page as of October 2026, and its One App Free plan stays free for one app with unlimited users. Odoo does not publish a trial length. frePPLe offers a 15-day free trial as of October 2026, Cloud is free for 3 months during a proof of concept, and its Community edition is free; frePPLe does not say whether a card is needed. Winner: Odoo Manufacturing, because it states that no card is required and keeps a hosted free plan.
frePPLe vs Odoo Manufacturing: scheduling and rescheduling
frePPLe is a planning engine first. The vendor states that it generates “finite-material and finite-capacity production plans”, so a plan respects component availability and resource capacity at the same time. frePPLe also states AI-based sales forecasts, which puts demand planning in the same tool. Odoo states “finite capacity planning” on a Gantt view, next to its MRP, MES, PLM, quality and maintenance apps, but does not publish which constraints the capacity model respects beyond that view. Winner on capacity: frePPLe.
On rescheduling, Odoo documents more. Its documentation on work order dependencies says linked work orders “can be rescheduled automatically”, with “Auto-Reschedule (Keep Buffer)” as the default; a planner drags one work order and the dependent ones follow. Machine stops and late material are not listed as triggers. frePPLe does not mention automatic or event-triggered rescheduling as of October 2026; its production planning page describes adjusting the plan for rush orders and machine breakdowns and rescheduling jobs “with a simple drag and drop”. Winner on rescheduling: Odoo Manufacturing. Our AI rescheduling list for SMEs scores the same gap: Odoo is #5 with 41 points, frePPLe #6 with 36, and SkyPlanner APS #1 with 100.
frePPLe vs Odoo Manufacturing: ERP integration
The two products sit in different places in the stack. frePPLe is an add-on planner: it names Odoo as an integration and connects to any other ERP “through REST API, CSV files, Excel files or direct database access”. That is why it ranks #2 of 11 on our ERP add-on list with 69 points as of October 2026. Odoo Manufacturing is part of the Odoo ERP, so it plans on the same records as the other Odoo apps and does not plug into another ERP. Its external API requires the Custom plan, listed at 35.90 euros per user per month as of October 2026.
The two also work together: a company on Odoo can keep Odoo as the system of record and run frePPLe as the planning layer through the named Odoo integration. Winner: frePPLe, because it connects to the ERP you already run.
frePPLe vs Odoo Manufacturing: implementation
frePPLe’s home page mentions a “1 week POC”, and its pricing page says a proof of concept takes “1-2 weeks” as of October 2026. Neither vendor publishes a go-live time for a full implementation. Odoo publishes no duration for a first schedule or a go-live on odoo.com or its manufacturing features page. Winner: frePPLe, because its proof of concept has a published length and price. Deployment is open on both sides: frePPLe runs as Cloud or Enterprise on your own servers, and Odoo runs on Odoo Online, with Odoo.sh and on-premise hosting on the Custom plan, or as the open-source edition.
