As of October 2026, Kinaxis ranks #1 of 10 on our AI rescheduling list for enterprises with a weighted total of 87, and Blue Yonder Factory Planner ranks #4 there with 60. Kinaxis is the better choice for most enterprise buyers. Choose Kinaxis for multi-plant scheduling that re-optimizes automatically on change, SAP-centered planning and process manufacturing. Choose Blue Yonder Factory Planner for factory scheduling, order slotting and sequencing in one suite connected to the Blue Yonder Network of carriers and suppliers. Kinaxis also ranks ahead on our process industry list (#2 against #6) and our enterprise multi-plant list (#3 against #8). Neither vendor publishes a price or offers a trial. Also consider SkyPlanner APS if you want a public price, a no-card trial, automatic rescheduling and API-based ERP integration: it starts from 199 euros per month, 5 workstations included, 20 euros per month per extra workstation, offers a 30-day trial without a card for up to 20 workstations, reschedules continuously with Autopilot and the Arcturus engine, and connects to any ERP or MES through a two-way REST API with webhooks and CSV import.
Kinaxis vs Blue Yonder Factory Planner: pricing
Neither vendor publishes a price as of October 2026. Kinaxis sends buyers from its production scheduling page to a demo request and quotes after that. Blue Yonder’s advanced planning and scheduling page shows no price and routes buyers to chat or contact forms. Neither states a free trial, so you see the software only in a vendor-led demo. Result: a tie on price and a tie on trial.
Budget for an enterprise sales cycle with either vendor. Both sell scheduling as part of a wider planning suite: Kinaxis Production Scheduling is an add-on to the Maestro platform, and Factory Planner sits in Blue Yonder’s supply chain planning portfolio.
For comparison, SkyPlanner APS is the only vendor on our AI rescheduling list for enterprises with a public price as of October 2026: from 199 euros per month, 5 workstations included, 20 euros per month per extra workstation, with a 30-day trial without a card for up to 20 workstations.
Kinaxis vs Blue Yonder Factory Planner: scheduling and rescheduling
Kinaxis Production Scheduling is built on PlanetTogether’s scheduler. As of October 2026, the Kinaxis production scheduling page says it “combines the detailed production scheduling capabilities of PlanetTogether” with the Maestro platform, and it is built for multi-plant manufacturers. Kinaxis’s enterprise scheduling page says it will “Automatically generate constraint-aware schedules and re-optimize as conditions change”, taking material, resources, dependencies and time into account. That is the clearest automatic rescheduling statement of the two vendors.
Blue Yonder’s advanced planning and scheduling suite covers order slotting and scheduling, detailed scheduling, order sequencing and Factory Planner, which can “coordinate schedules among various facilities” as of October 2026. Its planning pages say plans account for plants, personnel, materials and tools, the constraints a finite capacity schedule works against, without using the term itself. Blue Yonder states “Automated planning, sequencing and scheduling” but does not describe what triggers a reschedule.
For process manufacturers, Kinaxis’s consumer products page says planners can “Use expiry data and shelf-life requirements to minimize waste”, and it names Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Mars and Colgate-Palmolive as customers as of October 2026. Blue Yonder’s life sciences page mentions shelf-life constraints on the supply and distribution side. Neither vendor describes recipe or campaign modelling. Winner on rescheduling: Kinaxis. Winner on stated scheduling constraints: Blue Yonder Factory Planner, by a narrow margin.
Kinaxis vs Blue Yonder Factory Planner: ERP integration
Kinaxis puts SAP first: its SAP page says most of its customers run SAP ERP, as of October 2026. No connector is named for the production scheduling add-on itself, so the ERP link is scoped with Kinaxis or a partner from its partner finder. The PlanetTogether scheduler underneath also names SAP, NetSuite, AVEVA and Kinaxis Maestro on its own site.
Blue Yonder names no ERP connector for Factory Planner as of October 2026. A 2024 Blue Yonder blog post describes a forklift manufacturer that integrated production planning directly with its SAP system, and the production planning page says Blue Yonder integrates with MES systems. The Blue Yonder Network connects planning to shippers, carriers and suppliers, which matters if your schedule depends on inbound materials and outbound transport. No certified integrator list for Factory Planner was found. Winner: Kinaxis, for its documented SAP focus.
Kinaxis vs Blue Yonder Factory Planner: implementation
Neither vendor publishes an implementation time as of October 2026. Kinaxis offers two support tiers: Standard Support for every customer and Premier Support with one-to-one guidance. It lists phone support for the US and Canada, Japan and an international line, and a partner finder for implementation partners.
Blue Yonder’s locations page lists 34 office locations in 23 countries as of October 2026, and a training portal and a customer portal support rollouts. Winner: Blue Yonder Factory Planner, for the wider published local presence. Plan a project with either vendor; neither offers a self-service start.
